Rensselaer offers several accelerated programs to give you a one- to two-year head start on your fellow professionals:
Physician-Scientist Program (PDF)
In 1964, Rensselaer and the Albany Medical College were pioneers in initiating an accelerated degree program that enabled qualified individuals to complete requirements for both the B.S. and M.D. degrees in an accelerated time frame. Now, many years and hundreds of graduates later, we are expanding on our innovative approach and are offering a program that will graduate physicians who are intensively trained in medical research.
Qualified applicants who are accepted in the Rensselaer-Albany Medical College seven-year program will benefit from a unique science-based program built upon the rich tradition of Rensselaer's many years of technological innovation, as well as Albany Medical College's similar tradition of leadership in health-care research.
Management-Law Program
Through the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer, you can obtain a B.S. and J.D. in management and law in six years instead of the usual seven, and receive the preparation you’ll need to handle the complex legal and management issues of today’s technological society. Graduates may work as corporate administrators or attorneys, as private practitioners, or as elected or appointed public officials.
The program, which first originated with the Albany Law School, now offers the opportunity to study at other law schools and graduate schools, including Columbia Law School, Cornell University Law School, Harvard, and Stanford.
Science, Technology, and Society-Law Program
Together with Albany Law School, Rensselaer’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences offers an accelerated program in which you can earn both a B.S. in Science, Technology, and Society and a J.D. in six years rather than the usual seven years.

This master’s degree launches graduates ready to take a fresh design or original product to the global marketplace, turning a great idea into a commercial success.
Pathfinder MBA
This program offers a unique opportunity to students with strong technical educations to earn an MBA and gain relevant work experience at the same time.
School of Science B.S./Ph.D.
Students have the opportunity to transition directly into graduate studies earning both a B.S. and Ph.D. in seven years.
