 The Department of Public Safety Welcomes You to Rensselaer!
Public Safety is an important campus resource focused on facilitating a safe and secure environment for Rensselaer's students, faculty, staff and guests. The primary goal of the Public Safety staff is to provide excellence in service delivery and to enable a truly positive Rensselaer experience. The Department of Public Safety provides 24 hour per day, 365 day per year Officer patrol and response to life-safety incidents, coordinates internal and external resources to assist the management of critical incidents, and conducts awareness programs to proactively assist its community members in the maintenance of personal safety. The information that follows provides an overview of the law enforcement functions of the department, identifies specific policies and procedures relative to the maintenance of personal safety and property protection, and provides basic statistical information. You will also find a snapshot of services, common sense personal safety awareness information and programming highlights.
