March 2006 Dear Students: In October of 2005 many of you completed the Resident Facility Satisfaction Survey distributed as an on-line instrument this year. This survey was designed by staff within the Auxiliary Services Department to collect student feedback to help the Administration Division better understand how it can improve services to the residence halls. This is the fourth year we have polled the undergraduate residence areas, the first doing it on-line, with an incredible 45% return rate. For those of you who participated, I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with good information about the residence halls and your experience to date about the conditions and quality of services we are providing you. The data for your residence hall has been compiled and we would like to offer you an opportunity to view the on-line results by visiting the Auxiliary Services web site and clicking on "Resident Facility Satisfaction Survey Results" button http://www.rpi.edu/dept/administration/auxserv.html. This feedback is an essential component as we try to move forward in creating an overall positive experience for you during your years at Rensselaer. By providing insight to the things that we are doing right, we can do them even better as well as knowing where we need to make improvements with our services. After having the opportunity to compile and review the data, representatives from the Administration Division, Residence Life and student leaders from your residence area met on March 8 to have an open forum to develop action items to follow up on in the near future. The information you provided us will allow us to see how we are measuring the progress towards our goals, as well as an opportunity to identify the specific priorities in each building. Our goal is to make your residence experience as enriching as possible. If you have any comments or feedback on anything related to this, please feel free to contact me at roundc@rpi.edu. Thank you again for taking the time to participate. Sincerely, Claude D. Rounds Vice President for Administration |
