Version 3.7.6 of ImageMagick, a powerful set of tools for graphic manipulation of JPEG, MPEG, GIF, MIFF, TIFF, PNG, and XPM files, is now available on all RCS platforms.
ImageMagick's capabilities are centered on the display command, which allows X-windows users to view and manipulate images, but it also offers other commands which perform a variety of functions. For instance, convert converts an image from one format to another, animate animates a sequence of images, and identify describes an image's format and characteristics.
To run ImageMagick 3.7.6, enter the following commands from a UNIX prompt:
setup imagemagick-new
display &
Once you do this, you can then access any of the following utilities:

ImageMagick 3.7.6 will become the system default on Wednesday, January 29, and you will no longer have to set it up.
You will still be able to access ImageMagick version 3.6.2 until February 28 by entering setup imagemagick-old from a UNIX prompt before running the program.
