Version 6.0.192 of the C-Kermit communications software package is now available on all RCS platforms.
C-Kermit is communications software for serial and network connections: modem dialing, file transfer and management, terminal connections, character-set translations, and script programming.
To run C-Kermit 6.0.192, enter the following commands from a UNIX prompt:
setup kermit-new
kermit &
C-Kermit has extensive built-in help. For a list of available commands, ? at the C-Kermit> command prompt.
For more information on using C-Kermit, refer to the man page on RCS by first setting up the package as shown above, and then typing man kermit at a UNIX prompt.
Version 6.0.192 of the C-Kermit package will become the system default on Wednesday, January 29, and you will no longer have to set it up.
You will still be able to access C-Kermit version 5A.190 until February 28 by entering setup kermit-old from a UNIX prompt before running the program.
