Version 4.0.1 of Z-Mail Now Available on RCS
Version 4.0.1 of Z-Mail Now Available on RCS
The most recent version of the Z-Mail electronic mail package, version 4.0.1,
is now available on the RCS system.
The latest version of the package includes the following changes:
- On many dialogs, new Close or Cancel buttons replace
Done buttons and, in some dialogs, their location has changed.
- The Message Window right-button popup menu now includes support for
passing Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to your Web browser.
- In addition to listing Z-Script variables alphabetically, the
Variables dialog now also organizes variables by the categories of
Compositions, Messages, User Interfaceb,
Z-Script, and Localization.
- In this new version of Z-Mail, you can now save messages to folders
without saving the attachments, by using the Z-Script save command
with the new -prune option.
- You can now configure the Z-Mail application to display in-line
attachments as text, using the new INLINE attach.types directive.
- The Compose window has a right-button popup menu.
- The Z-Mail application now loads and parses Z-Script commands faster.
To access Z-Mail 4.0.1, enter the following command from a UNIX window:
setup zmail-new
zmail &
Alternately, you may also select Z-Mail from the RCS
Applications menu.
Z-Mail 4.0.1 will become the system default on Friday, June 27,
and you will no longer have to set it up. You will still be able to access
the current version of Z-Mail, Version 3.2, until July 25 by entering
the command setup zmail-old at a UNIX prompt before running the program.
