SPlus 5.1 Now Available on IBM RCS Machines

Version 5.1 of SPlus, a data analysis package that provides interactive analysis with step-by-step feedback using a built-in object-oriented language, is now available on all IBM AIX RCS workstations.

SPlus 5.1 includes the following features:

To access a list of SPlus' built-in on-line help topics, enter the following command at the > SPlus prompt:

     help.start()

Doing this will start up Netscape, and open an S-Plus help window containing links to numerous SPlus functions, datasets, and categories.

To exit the SPlus program, use the CTRL-D key sequence.

SPlus 5.1 will become the default version on December 27, and you will no longer have to set it up. You will still be able to access the old version, SPlus 3.4, until Tuesday, February 1, 2000, by entering the command setup splus-old from a UNIX prompt before running the program.

If you have any questions, problems, or comments about using SPlus, please contact the ACS Help Desk consultants by phoning ext. 7777, or by directing electronic mail to consult@rpi.edu.
