Version 2001 of Pro/ENGINEER, a powerful computer-aided engineering package used to create three-dimensional solid models of parts from two-dimensional sketches, is now available on the Windows 2000 systems in the VCC South lab, as well as on all RCS UNIX workstations.
New and enhanced features of Pro/ENGINEER 2001 include:
To access the program on the Windows 2000 systems in VCC South lab, simply double-click on the proe2001 icon located on the desktop.
To access the new version of Pro/ENGINEER from an RCS UNIX workstation, enter the following command from a UNIX prompt:
pro &
Alternatively, you may select the ProEngineer: Computer-Aided Design option from the RCS Applications menu.
Pro/ENGINEER Release 2001 is now the system default on all UNIX platforms. You will still be able to access the old version of Pro/ENGINEER, Version 200i, on these machines until June 2, 2002, by entering the command setup proengineer-old at a UNIX prompt before running the program.
Version 200i of Pro/ENGINEER will be removed from the system on Monday, June 3, 2002.
