Pro/MECHANICA, PTC's family of functional simulation solutions used by design engineers to address the function of every part, assembly, and design, and to provide early insight into how a product will perform in the real world, is now available for use on the SGI UNIX workstations.
This release of the program includes the following key enhancements:
Many of these enhancements further integrate Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA functionality to offer a seamless and intuitive design environment.
You currently need to setup the program before running it, as follows:
setup ~millem/pro-mechanica-test
You may then start up the various Pro/MECHANICA modules, as shown below.
To start the Pro/MECHANICA 2000i Motion analysis module:
mmotion &
To start the Pro/MECHANICA 2000i Structural analysis module:
mstruct &
To start the Pro/MECHANICA 2000i Thermal analysis module:
mtherm &
You can access Pro/MECHANICA Online Help System by pulling down the Help menu in the Pro/MECHANICA window and selecting the Help Topics option.
To print both shaded and non-shaded images of a model on all platforms, pull down the File menu and select the Print... option.
Printed drawings display a "For Educational use only" watermark. If you need a workaround to remove this watermark, please contact the Help Desk.
Version 2000i of Pro/MECHANICA will become the system default on Tuesday, March 21, and you will no longer need to set it up.
