Release 5, the most recent version of the Maple V symbolic math package, is now available on the RCS system.
The newest version includes the following changes from the previous version:
For example, to enter an integral, click on the integral form in the expression palette; the appropriate Maple code with "%?" placeholders will appear in the worksheet window. Simply replace the placeholders with the desired function and the integration limits, using the tab key to move among the placeholders.

To access the latest version of Maple V, issue the following commands from a UNIX window:
setup maple-new maple &
Alternately, you may select the Maple: Symbolic Math Package option from the RCS Applications menu once you have set up maple-new.
Release 5 of Maple V will become the default on Tuesday, June 30, and you will no longer have to set it up. You will still be able to access the current version of Maple, Release 4, until Thursday, July 30, by entering the command setup maple-old from a UNIX prompt before running the program.
