Release 5.1 of Maple V Now Available on RCS

Release 5.1, the most recent version of the Maple V symbolic math package, is now available on the RCS system.

The newest version includes the following changes from the previous version:

To access the latest version of Maple V, issue the following commands from a UNIX window:

   	setup maple-new
   	maple &

Alternately, you may select the Maple: Symbolic Math Package option from the RCS Appliations menu once you have set up maple-new.

Release 5.1 of Maple V will become the default on Monday, August 16, and you will no longer have to set it up. (This release will also be available in the campus PC labs by the start of the fall 1999 semester.) You will still be able to access the current version of Maple, Release 5, until Thursday, September 16, by entering the command setup maple-old from a UNIX prompt before running the program.
