As part of an ongoing project to bring Rensselaer closer to the leading edge of computing by keeping up-to-date with what vendors are offering and supporting, the Server Support Services group has been upgrading all versions of SunOS prior to Solaris 2.5 (SunOS 5.5 + OpenWindows 3.5). As of Monday, January 26, 1998, support for all versions of SunOS prior to Solaris 2.5 will be discontinued.
To determine which operating system is currently running on your machine, enter the following command:
uname -rs
