Libraries Announce New BioOne Database

The Rensselaer Libraries are pleased to announce the recent addition of the BioOne database, an aggregation of the full-text of high-impact bioscience research journals focused on biological, ecological, and environmental sciences. Most of the journal titles are published by small societies and non-commercial publishers, and, until now, have been available only in printed form. The product of an innovative collaboration between scientific societies, libraries, academe, and the private sector, BioOne was first introduced in conceptual form in May 1999, and was fully launched this month.

Approximately 40 peer-reviewed journals and bulletins, published by American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) member societies, will initially be available; the Libraries, which are among BioOne's Charter Supporters, will add other titles over time. Full-text articles are available beginning with year 2000 issues, and the archive will grow from there.
