New Features Added to SciFinder Scholar Database

The Chemical Abstract Service announced a number of new features in its SciFinder Scholar 3.0 last month, including:

• Analyze capabilities: Using the Analyze tool, focus and sort your search results by Author Name, CAS Registry Number, CAS Section Title, Company/Organization, Document Type, Index Term, Journal Name, Language, Publication Year, and Supplementary Terms.

• Access to CHEMCATS: Information on sources for nearly 400,000 commercially available chemicals is available from more than 300 suppliers.

• Access to CHEMLIST: A database of key domestic and international regulatory information.

Please note that users do not need to update their client-server software.

In addition to these new features, CAS has enhanced its SciFinder Scholar web site, located at the URL http://www.cas.org/SCIFINDER/SCHOLAR/, to include detailed information about content in the CAS databases. In addition, a new series of instructional tips, located at the URL http://www.cas.org/ SCIFINDER/SCHOLAR/SOLUTIONS/, includes such topics as Finding Biosequences and Finding Specific Enzymes.
