Hey! Back Up!

Hey! Back Up!

So, when was the last time you backed up your files? Last month? Never backed up your files, you say?

If it's been a while since you last ran a file backup, it's high time you started taking advantage of the EZ-Snapshot file storage backup service, which is offered free-of-charge and provides file saving and restoring capabilities for individuals' and departments' campus desktop computers, laptops, and CUSSP UNIX systems. All users must register for this service. This means that even though the software has already been pre-installed on all Fall 1999 and Fall 2000 freshmen laptops, laptop owners must still register for the service.

You can access more information on this important new backup service either via the Academic Computing Services homepage, located at the URL http://www.rpi.edu/Computing/ACShome.html, or directly using the following URL:

	http://www.rpi.edu/dept/cis/software/tsm/public_html/ez-snap.html

You can find links to the installation documentation at the above URL, or can view it directly from the following link:

We would also like to remind the Rensselaer community that the EZ-Snapshot service is not currently available for Macintosh computers. However, CIS does plan to include the service for Macs, and will post an announcement when it becomes available for public use.
