The UnCover document delivery company indexes and supplies articles from more than 17,000 journals covering all disciplines, and researchers can search its database for journal articles by author, article keyword, journal title, and publication dates. The Rensselaer Libraries' journal holdings have been linked with journals in the UnCover database, and this means that when a user runs a certain search and journal titles match, a list of the Libraries' holdings will appear on the screen. However, if the journal titles do not match, users have the option of ordering articles or requesting them through the Libraries' interlibrary loan service.
But what do you do if you need a publication or article pronto? No problem! The Libraries' Research Express program, which operates through UnCover, bypasses the standard interlibrary loan service and offers researchers quick delivery of publications directly via fax, either to the library, or to the user's home or department. This service enables Rensselaer faculty, graduate students, and exempt staff to order their required research journal articles directly from the UnCover database, when they would otherwise not be available from our own Libraries' collections. What's more, article costs -- up to $40 per document -- are subsidized by the Libraries.
