The Libraries have added another full-text source to their growing collection of e-journals. Through the EBSCOhost interface, users can access several individual databases such as Business Source Premier, ERIC (education), Academic Search Elite (multidisciplinary), and MEDLINE and Newspaper Source. These databases can be searched individually or concurrently.
Academic Search Elite provides full text for nearly 1,560 academic, social sciences, humanities, general science, education and multicultural journals. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 2,750 journals, with nearly 1,800 of these being peer-reviewed.
Full text backfiles go as far back as January of 1990, while indexing and abstract backfiles go as far back as January of 1984. This scholarly collection includes embedded images, and provides journal coverage for most academic areas of study, including biological sciences, economics, communications, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts and literature, medical sciences and women's studies. Charts and graphs are converted to keyword-searchable ASCII text. This database is updated daily on EBSCOhost.
