The Libraries now offer access to the complete backfiles of the ISI Web of Science, the Web interface for institutional sitewide access to ISI citation products, which cover over 8,000 international journals. Individual components include Science Citation Index Expanded, 1945 - present; Social Sciences Citation Index, 1956 - present; and Arts & Humanities Citation Index, 1975 - present.
The Web of Science provides an integrated research environment with flexibility, navigation, and functionality which permits further, faster, and more comprehensive multidisciplinary searching than before. The cited reference tool, which is the strength of this research tool, offers seamless desktop access to cited reference searching, a unique ISI feature that enables users to navigate forward, backward, and through the literature to uncover relevant research and its influence on the worldwide research community. Users can set profiles to get weekly updates of citation information for all articles through the unique "times cited" feature, which automatically sorts search results and lists the most highly cited papers first.
A note to those users who have used the Web of Science previously: Please make sure that you clear the cache of your web browser, so that the new files will appear on the web site.
