As of this month, Rensselaer Libraries will have Internet access to Web Editions for the following 19 subscribed journals from the American Chemical Society:
Users may access these full-text electronic journals directly from the catalog record, as well as via links from citations in the SciFinder Scholar database. To retrieve the full text for an article from a subscribed ACS Web Edition, click on the "Full Text" icon in a SciFinder Scholar record.
Subscribers to ACS Web Editions can also link from references in journal articles directly to abstract and bibliographic information at Chemical Abstract Service (CAS). Subscribers viewing a reference in the full-text HTML version of an article can click on the "CAS" tag following the reference and retrieve the corresponding abstract. For a demonstration, go to: http://pubs.acs.org/cgi-bin/jbrowse.demo?orlef7.
Please note that this initial release includes reference linking from full-text articles published in ACS journals from January 1999 forward, but links from articles published prior to January 1999 will be added over time. In addition, this feature does not require a subscription to all ACS journals; that is, a JACS subscriber can view an abstract from another journal as long as it is referenced in a JACS article. And finally, subscribers should note that, due to regularly scheduled maintenance of the abstract database, CAS reference links are not available from 6:00pm EST Saturdays to 8:00am EST Sundays.
