Learn to Use the Libraries!

The Libraries will offer a variety of instruction options during the Spring semester. Whatever your learning style, we hope to make available information to help you use library resources more effectively in your research, class assignments or projects. In addition to regularly scheduled library short courses, new options will include instructional videotapes, on-line tutorials, and faculty, staff and graduate student workshops. Topics will cover how to choose and use bibliographic databases, how to access and use on-line books and journals, and how to search the Web more efficiently. Special sections will be devoted to the "Libraries and Laptops," how to incorporate library research and resources into your regular laptop use. Other workshops will be presented to bring faculty, staff and graduate students up-to-date on the UnCover document delivery service, the SPIN grants database, and specialized resources such as the Web of Science (citation index) and Current Contents.

The Libraries' instruction schedule is available on-line from the Instruction icon on the RensSearch home page. For more information, or to learn how our librarians can tailor web pages or demonstrations for your classes, please contact Mary Anne Waltz by phoning ext. 8345 or directing electronic mail to waltzm@rpi.edu.
