CIS Takes New Form under DotCIO Reorganization
CIS Takes New Form under DotCIO Reorganization
Last year, the President created the cabinet position of Chief Information
Officer to recognize and promote the importance of information strategies
for the Institute.
"Information is the lifeblood of any research university," says Chief
Information Officer John E. Kolb. "In order for the Institute to achieve its
commitments to the Rensselaer Plan, it must make strategic use of its
information resources and infrastructure."

Computing and Information Services (CIS) has been reorganized into

Please watch future issues of The Kiosk, as well as Academic and
Research Computing's News Flash section of RPInfo, for any
additional DotCIO-related updates.
In addition, please note that some of the changes associated with this
reorganization will take time to accomplish. For example, you'll continue
to see the initials "ACS" and "CIS" on many of our printed and electronic
publications for a while, so we'll appreciate your patience during this
transition.
