UNIX Software and OS Updates

The following software changes or upgrades were made to the RCS UNIX systems over the summer:

• Version 4.73 of the Netscape Web browser

• Version 4.17 of the gdb GNU debugger

• Version 1.10 of CVS, a version control system that helps you to keep old versions of files such as source code, keep a log of changes that occured, manage releases, and to control the concurrent editing of source files among multiple authors.

The IBM and SGI platforms will be using the AIX 4.3.3 and IRIX 6.5.6 operating systems, respectively, at the beginning of the Fall 2000 semester.
