Some Reminders about CIS' Printing Refund Policy

Computing and Information Services (CIS) would like to remind the members of the Rensselaer computing community about its printing refund policy.

Basically, CIS will grant refunds for unusable printer output due to printer errors, including poor output due to low toner, overheads printed on regular paper, plotters that ran out of ink or paper before the print job was completed, jobs where only the header sheet printed, etc. However, CIS will not issue credit to those users who printed the wrong file, sent their job to the wrong printer, printed multiple copies to compare, or did not pick up their output before it was removed from the print racks.

You must fill out a Print Refund Request form to request a refund. You can pick one up at the VCC Help Desk, or access it on-line by selecting the Academic Computing Services link from the RPInfo homepage, then selecting the ACS forms link from the resulting ACS homepage. Return the form, along with your header sheet and any output, to the VCC Help Desk. You must complete and return your request to the Help Desk staff within seven days of the date that the job was printed.

The Help Desk will process any approved funds within seven days of receiving a refund request.
