If you use an external Internet Service Provider (ISP), we'd like to remind you that you will need to configure your mail client to use that ISP as your Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server to send mail outside of Rensselaer.
For example, if you're a RoadRunner (nycap.rr.com) user in the Capital District, you will have to configure your mail client to use smtp.nycap.rr.com as your SMTP server while connected via RoadRunner, if you wish to send mail to any recipients outside of Rensselaer.
If you have any questions about your mail configuration, please direct them via electronic mail to postmaster@rpi.edu. In addition, you should contact your ISP with any questions you may have about using their mailer. Thank you!
