WordPerfect is a commonly-used word processor available on a number of platforms. On RCS, WordPerfect Version 7.0 and later will be available only on AIX and Solaris Workstations. Unfortunately, since Corel is dropping support for the SGI platform, WordPerfect on the SGI labs will remain at Version 6.0. Note that you can use Version 6 to open a document created with later version of WordPerfect, but some features will not be available.

The easiest way to start WordPerfect on RCS is to position the mouse cursor over the WordPerfect item in the RCS Applications menu on the screen, and click the left mouse button. If you have selected it successfully, it should briefly appear highlighted in a black rectangle. Alternatively, you can open a UNIX window and type the command:
xwp &After a few moments, a "program" menu and an empty document should appear on your screen. To begin your document, start typing in the document window.
