Post-results
The POST-RESULTS module allows the user to visualize the results of
the finite element analysis. Contour lines may be drawn on the surfaces
of the model to represent various calculated scalar functions. The model
may be deformed as well to represent the effect of various loading conditions.
Shading and color may be used to represent the value of functions calculated
by the analysis. Animation is available for display of dynamic analyses.
This documentation is taken directly from the Moviestar help files
and included here in a hyper-text format for your convenience.

Animation
The ANIMATION command is used to generate multiple frames the next time
RUN command is given.
- Frames
- Select the number of in-between frames.
- Linear
- Select a linear animation scheme. Rigid body transformations are applied
uniformly to the model. This may cause a jerky motion when displayed in
real time since it implies instantaneous velocity changes.
- Rotation
- Specify the rigid body rotation about the current coordinate frame
over the frames indicated.
- Run
- The RUN command starts an animation sequence. The transformations not
set will take their default value, usually zero.
- Scale
- Specify the scaling of the model over the frames indicated.
- Smooth
- Select a smooth animation scheme. Rigid body transformations are applied
smoothly to the model. The model accelerates and decelerates through the
transformation.
- Status
- List the options and their values currently selected for the next animation
sequence.
- Translation
- Specify the translation of the model over the frames indicated.
- Vibration
- Select the simulation of harmonic vibrations as the animation mode.
The vector function scale factor is modified by a sinusoidal function over
the number of frames indicated to simulate the vibration.
- Zoom
- Specify the zoom in to or out from the model over the frames indicated.

Contours
The CONTOURS command enables or disables the display or contour lines
on either line drawing or shaded images.
- Color-bar
- THE COLOR-BAR command enables or disables the display of the color
bar key on shaded image.
- Function-range
- The FUNCTION-RANGE command selects the function range for scalar data
display.
- Mode
- The MODE command selects the method of scalar function display. The
FRINGE option selects a continuous tone fringe plot and the ISOBAR option
selects a contour plot.
- Scalar-function
- Select the scalar function command that will be displayed using the
CONTOUR command.

Data-set-selection
The DATA-SET-SELECTION command specifies the scalar or vector function
time steps and iterations used in an animated display of a non-linear analysis.
- Create
- The CREATE command allows the user to specify a set of data to be displayed.
- Current
- Select a previously defined data set as the current one.
- Delete
- Delete a previously defined data set specification.
- Directory
- List the stored data sets.
- Modify
- The MODIFY command allows the user to modify a data set previously
entered.
- Run-data-set
- The RUN-DATA-SET command allows to display a data set previously defined.

Define-color-bar
The DEFINE-COLOR-BAR command set the number of colors and the colors
themselves used in the color bar.

Deformed-geometry
The DEFORMED-GEOMETRY command selects the vector function and the scale
factor used in manipulating the shape of the model.
- Modify-shape
- The MODIFY-SHAPE command turns vector function display on and off.
- Scale-factor
- Specify the displacement scale factor applied to the vector function
before it is added to the nodal coordinates.
- Vector-function
- Specify the vector function (acceleration, displacement, or velocity)
for display.

Shape-title
Enable the display of the shape title each time a scalar or vector function
is drawn.

Specify-step-increment
The SPECIFY-STEP-INCREMENT command specifies the particular loading
step and increment that will be displayed by either a contour or displaced
plot.

Status
List the options and their values currently selected for post results
display. ________________________________________________________________________________
