MOVIESTAR is a pre- and post-processor for finite element data. It consists of several independent modules or processes. A user defines a geometric representation of the model using the DEFINE-GEOMETRY module. Then, the GENERATE-MESH module may be use to fit a finite element mesh to the geometry. The PREPARE-ANALYSIS module provides options to add constraints, loads, geometry and material properties to the finite element model as well as edit the nodes and elements. The OPTIMIZE-MESH module is available to compact, compress, and resequence the nodes and elements giving the optimal mesh for computation efficiency.
The FORMAT-DATA program can be run to translate the finite element model from the MOVIESTAR data base to one of the target analysis code formats or the IGES or CAEDOS formats for data exchange. It also performs the reverse process after the analysis is complete. The GLOBAL commands that allow the user to label, list, plot and otherwise manipulate the model.
Moviestar must be setup before you can run it.
setup ecs/moviestar
Once Moviestar is setup, you can run it with the command:
movX
Moviestar has on-line documentation.
