Saving a FrameMaker Document

To save a FrameMaker document:

  1. Select the File menu at the top of the document window; a pop-up window should appear.
  2. Select the Save As... menu option. A separate FrameMaker Save Document dialog box will appear on the screen.
  3. Ensure that you are located in the correct directory, and then enter the name of your file in the Save in File: field of the dialog box.
  4. Left-click on Save to save the file; otherwise, left-click on Cancel to abort the save and return to the main FrameMaker document editor window.

Once you have saved your file, you may use the File menu's Save option to save the file under the same name; use the Save As... as described above to save the file under another name.

The next time you want to work on this document, click on Open in the FrameMaker main "button bar" menu rather than on New.
