Abaqus is a set of routines for pre- and post- processing of finite element data. The package reads an input deck containing model geometry and history input data, and processes it for use by Abaqus post or plot. The printed documentation should be referenced for deck commands. Once familiar with the basic concepts, there are many examples included in the printed manuals or on-line which are useful for learning Abaqus.
You need to enter the following command at a UNIX prompt:
abaqus
Once you start Abaqus, the command line to run it depends on the execution procedure you wish to use.
Please refer to the extensive printed documentation available in the ACS Help Desk in CII 3111 for more information on using Abaqus. Additional on-line documentation exists for some of the execution procedures.
Refer to the printed documentation for deck commands.
Once you are familiar with Abaqus' basic concepts, you may want to refer to the examples included in the printed manuals, or available online, for more help with learning the package.
