Click on the items listed below to access information on using remote connections to the Rensselaer Computing System (RCS).
You can connect to RCS resources from your PC using Windows95, Windows 98, or Windows NT, using the Samba server. This allows access to personal workspace (home directories), shared areas, and printing to RCS-controlled printers. A valid RCS userID is required.
The Xyplex communications server enables connections between incoming sessions and the campus network. After connecting your computer to RCS through the Xyplex, you can access your home directory, the World Wide Web, or Internet news groups. You will need to authenticate to the server by supplying your valid RCS userid and password.
