Description:

If you have a PC or non-RCS UNIX workstation connected to the RPI network via Ethernet or SLIP/PPP, you might want to make use of some services such as electronic mail or usenet. You need to specify certain server addresses in the appropriate software on your machine to do so.

Possible Problems and Solutions:

If you are connecting to Usenet directly via a SLIP or PPP connection, you cannot post to any newsgroups. We have no way to verify who you are (authenticate you) when you access Usenet this way, so the RPI Usenet server will not let you post.

To post an article to Usenet, log on to RCS with your RCS account and run Usenet from there.
