Description:

If you have a PC or non-RCS UNIX workstation connected to the RPI network via Ethernet or SLIP (Serial Line Internet Protocol) or PPP (Point to Point Protocol), you can configure your computer to use RPI's domain name servers (DNS). Various software packages need to resolve domain names, that is, take machine names and turn them into IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, or vice versa. This enables your host to communicate with other hosts.
