Ending your RCS session.
If you are using an RCS UNIX workstation, you can exit UNIX by following these steps:
If you are logged in remotely, you can exit your session at any time by entering:
logout
or
exit
at the UNIX prompt.
For general information about RCS Accounts and using them, please refer to Memos RPI.112, Using UNIX Workstations, and RPI.113, Using UNIX: The Rensselaer Computing System (RCS).
When you are using a workstation, make sure that you save any work you want to keep and quit each application completely before you logout of RCS altogether.
If you receive the message
There are stopped jobs
when you try to logout, this means that you have interrupted or stopped something, such as a program, before it had completed its task. If you are using a window system (such as X Windows), check any windows you might have open to see if there is something important that you want to save or finish. Use the command jobs to see the stopped processes and exit the program. When you are ready to logout, simply enter logout again.
