One of the most frequently asked questions is "I know someone's name, and I think they might have an electronic mail address somewhere. How can I find it ?" Unfortunately, there is no one single authoritative source one can turn to for the answer.
The easiest and fastest way to find someone's e-mail address is to contact them directly by postal mail or telephone, and ask them.
Barring that, there are a number of different techniques available to assist you. The less detailed and/or correct the information you start with, the more difficult the search will be. Regardless of the information you start with, you cannot be assured of finding an arbitrary e-mail address using the the online tools and techiques available today.

The postmaster@rpi.edu does not have access to any privileged, special or other resources to find e-mail addresses other than those mentioned above. Therefore requests to postmaster@rpi.edu for individuals' addresses at other institutions will be referred to this section in RPInfo. If you are unable to find an email address using the information outlined here, we encourage you to contact the person by postal mail or telephone.
