Lecture on Neutron Compton Scattering Technique
Raymond Moreh, professor of physics at Ben Gurion University of
the Negev in Beer Sheva, Israel, will give a lecture titled "Studies
of Gas-Surface Interaction Energies Using Neutron Compton Scattering"
on Thursday, August 9, at 3 p.m., in the Nes Conference Room,
located in the building adjacent to the Gaertner Accelerator Facility
on Tibbits Avenue. The lecture is sponsored by the Department
of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering.
Moreh will discuss direct measurements of the
interaction energies between atoms such as helium or neon on carbon
surfaces. The measurements were taken using the Neutron Compton
Scattering (NCS) technique, which will be described in detail.
HR Continues Progress on Six Point
On July 11 and 12, consultants from William M. Mercer met with
members of the President's Cabinet, deans, department chairs,
and members of the executive committee of the Faculty Senate to

will prove invaluable as we move forward with this initiative.
Our intent is to complete the pay study by the end of the fiscal
