Steered the rover into the martian atmosphere, firing rockets to adjust its direction. As a member of JPL’s Attitude Control System team, he was also responsible for keeping the rovers’ solar panels pointed toward the sun while their antennae pointed toward Earth, enabling communication as the rovers moved around the Mars surface collecting data.
