50 Year Club Creates Display Case

The 50 Year Club has created a new display case that each year will honor the class that becomes eligible to join the 50 Year Club. This year that was the Class of ’52, and members of the class and the 50 Year Club visited the case during Reunion in June.

The display case is located in the Rensselaer Union. Each annual display will feature the honored class’s class ring. This year’s display also includes photos and memorabilia related to the newly constructed field house and its impact on the Rensselaer and Capital Region communities, the success of Rensselaer’s lacrosse program under Ned Harkness, and life in Rensselaerwyck and “Tin Town.”

The project was funded by the 50 Year Club and supported by the Rensselaer Union, the RAA, and the Office of Alumni Relations. The display case committee included Ray Kukfa ’50, chair, Dick Lupi ’51, and Harry “Bud” Hovey ’52, who worked with 50 Year Club President Ken Mortenson ’47 and consultant Carl Westerdahl.
