Progress Reports:
Bringing "The Rensselaer Plan" to the Regions
President Jackson is bringing news of the plans progress to locations across the country this fall and winter. The first of these Town Meetings was held in Atlanta on Oct. 30. Jackson reviewed research highlights and detailed upgrades and additions to the physical campus. Alumni in attendance were energized by the news of the developments at Rensselaer. Its remarkable how far weve come already, said Robert Lepp 86, president of the Georgia Alumni Chapter. This is an exciting time to be involved as an alumni volunteer and to be a part of the progress. Upcoming meetings will be held in the Los Angeles/Orange County region of Southern California on Feb. 20 and in Westchester, N.Y., on March 19. For information, contact Jacqueline Baker at bakerj3@rpi.edu or (518) 276-4132. Watch for more Rensselaer events in locations around the country. Affinity groups will be hosting biotechnology, information technology, building trades, and entrepreneurship programs in the coming months, and regional chapters will continue to offer events with a professional focus, as well as visits from campus representatives. |

Celebrating Student Athletes A new display honoring Rensselaers current and alumni hockey players is now located in the west grandstand area of the Houston Field House. The display was conceived and paid for by the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA), in support of its ongoing mission to help enrich student life. The goal of the exhibit, according to Jan Pirrong 69, chair of the RAAs Athletic Relations Committee, is to celebrate the achievements of RPI athletes and to build pride among alumni and the general public about RPI athletics.
