FIFTY YEARS OF THE HOUSTON FIELD HOUSE
Kevin Endriss ’78 Toledo, Ohio In the spring of 1977, it was announced that the rock group Boston was going to play the Field House. The night before tickets went on sale, my good friend, the late John DeGroot ’80, and I set up camp outside the box office. We were not the first ones, as there were a few fraternities ahead of us. The night passed uneventfully. When the box office opened, the fraternities ahead of us bought the first few rows of the center section. When our turn came, front row seats on the side sections were still available and we bought four of them. On the night of the show, we picked up our guests and found our seats. We were as close to the stage as any show I’ve ever been to, but the music was great (and loud). Kevin Endriss ’78 Toledo, Ohio
