RAA Fellows Award: Douglas Henck 74
Douglas Henck 74 of Hong Kong will receive the Rensselaer Alumni Association (RAA) Fellows Award from the Departments of Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science on Friday, Nov. 14 when he visits the Troy campus to present a lecture on the Ten Commandments of Doing Business Abroad.
Henck is president of Asian Operations for Sun Life Financial in Hong Kong. Sun Life Financial is a financial services organization headquartered in Toronto, Canada, with operations in key markets around the world.
Henck is a fellow in the American Society of Actuaries. He is the former chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and former chair of the Asia Pacific Council of the American Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Hong Kong International School Board of Trustees, the leading international school in Hong Kong.
Henck, who received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics from Rensselaer in 1974, has served Rensselaer as a member of the School of Engineering Advisory Board and vice president of the Rensselaer Chapter of Hong Kong.
The RAA Fellows Award honors alumni or friends of Rensselaer who set an example by their professional or personal achievements and by their service to Rensselaer.
