Rensselaer
Shares in Mellon Foundation Grant for ConnectNY Library
Consortium
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has
awarded a grant of $40,000 to support planning for
a university library consortium that includes Rensselaer,
St. Lawrence University, Colgate University, Rochester
Institute of Technology, and Vassar College. The consortium,
called ConnectNY, allows the institutions to share
library holdings, making the collections of all five
readily available to students, faculty, and staff.

LaChance Appointed Executive Director, Connecticut
Quality Council, Rensselaer at Hartford
Lynn LaChance has been appointed executive
director, Connecticut Quality Council (CQC), located
at Rensselaer at Hartford. The CQC Board of Governors
approved the motion for the appointment, after LaChance
had been serving as acting manager of CQC since March
2003. CQC is associated with the Professional Development
Programs organization at Rensselaer at Hartford. More

Association Presents Annual Awards During Reunion
Weekend
The Rensselaer Alumni
Association (RAA) presented the 2003 RAA Awards at
its annual awards dinner Friday, June 13, as part
of Reunion weekend. The Distinguished Service Award,
the highest award the association bestows, was presented
to Harvey Zeve '52.
The Albert Fox Demers Medals, the second highest award
the association bestows, was presented to John Buckley
'49 (posthumously), Arthur Goldstein '53, Nancy Mueller,
and Paul Severino '69. More
