When computers have to compare notes
during a data-crunching networked simulation, the
process can get bogged down. Rensselaer physicist
Gyorgy Korniss has developed a method that allows
neighboring computers to communicate better. Better
communication allows the simulation process to run
faster and more efficiently. Korniss' research was
recently published in the journal Science
(PDF).

a snow emergency. Vehicles must display a Snow Emergency
Permit, which can be obtained free of charge from Rensselaer's
Parking Office during regular business hours. For more,
