Johannes Goebel Visits Campus
Johannes
Goebel, newly named artistic director for Rensselaer's experimental
media and performing arts center, brought his family to
campus last week for a look at his new employer.
Goebel, 52, is the founding director of
Germany's Institute for Music and Acoustics (IMA) at the
Zentrum für Kunst und Medientechnologie (ZKM) in Karlsruhe.
He will begin his new appointment July 1.
On
Monday, Goebel's family (wife Walburg, and teenagers Myrthe,
Myra, Joringel, and Linde) met with President Jackson. Following,
Goebel was introduced to the President's Cabinet.
During the day, the German composer and
art curator was photographed and interviewed by The Poly
and local news media (right).
