Rensselaer’s MS in IT program is one of the best IT programs available today. The ability to take courses from 11 different concentrations ranging from Data Science and Analytics to Financial Engineering assured me that this program is one of its kinds available today and aligns very well with what I wanted from my graduate study. The course curriculum is high on industry relevance and for most cases even ahead of the other more popular MS IT programs. The course flexibility and course quality along with the great reputation that the university has made me choose Rensselaer.

Describe your graduate project and its purpose/applications?
Our team delivered a proof of concept to General Electric for its data management needs in an Energy Cost Modeling processes. This application helps the company to accurately manage the drivers of a wind-farm costing model. Though my role primarily was of a project manager and business analyst, owing to my technical background, I contributed in database modeling and quality assurance activities. Facing a real world client, working on a real problem and collaborating with teammates with very diverse backgrounds were very fruitful learning experiences.

What did you decided to do after graduation?
I have joined Barclays Investment Bank as a full-time Analyst and am taking forward my interest in financial markets. I work as a Business Analyst on technology teams developing solutions for this fast paced industry. I am focusing on newer and deeper topics within business analysis and project management. In long term, I aspire to be a technology product manager.

What are your hobbies/interests/special talents?
I enjoy economics and understanding its dynamism with respect to various aspects of human civilization. I am interested in subjects varying from Bitcoins to spirituality. After a day’s work I refreshingly enjoy some light cooking, catching up with friends and working on my soon to be launched ‘startup’.

List Information about your background and accomplishments in College and Work Experience
