Darrin Fresh Water Institute - at Lake George

Known as "Queen of the North American Lakes", Lake George is a 196 foot deep, 32-mile long, clear-water oligotrophic lake, which is located on the eastern periphery of the Adirondack Mountains. Lake George stretches from largely undisturbed watersheds in the north to substantially developed urbanized watersheds in the south. The Darrin Fresh Water Institute field station is situated at the coastal mid-point of the lake, making it the ideal launch point for lake study and sampling.
