Internships at the Keck Water Research Laboratory
Now in its 14th year of operation, the Keck Water Research Lab is proud to offer a well developed and diverse internship program for those interested in learning about analytical chemistry involving aquatic biota and lake ecosystems as well as field research methods.
Summer internships at Keck provide successful applicants with experience in learning proper laboratory protocols, the collection of water chemistry data and samples, laboratory analyses, and field research experience. Internships are paid positions with Keck working on research programs affiliated with the Darrin Fresh Water Institute and run from late May until the end of August.
Student interns working at Keck gives them the opportunity to:
- develop research skills in both the laboratory and field
- work with different types of analytical equipment and methods including ion chromatography, flow injection analysis, atmoic absorption spectroscopy, total organic carbon, and maunual water sample analysis.
- develop working relationships with students and professionals from the RPI community and beyond.
- gain confidence with their future and career path.
