Column Name Column Description
Organization Key Primary key uniquely identifying each row in the organization dimension.
Chart of Accounts A code representing the individual chart of accounts for a particular reporting entity within Rensselaer (i.e. 9 = Troy Chart of Accounts; H = Hartford Chart of Accounts).
Chart of Accounts Description The description corresponding to the chart of accounts for a particular reporting entity within Rensselaer (e.g. Rensselaer at Hartford, Rensselaer at Troy).
Portfolio The 1st level in the organizational hierarchy of academic or administrative entities within the Institute. The organizational hierarchy consists of 5 levels: Portfolio, Department, Unit, Section, and Sub-Section.
Portfolio Description The description corresponding to the portfolio code (e.g. Administration, School of Engineering, Human Resources, etc.).
Portfolio Financial Manager The name of the financial manager responsible for the portfolio.
Department The 2nd level in the organizational hierarchy of academic or administrative entities within the Institute. The organizational hierarchy consists of 5 levels: Portfolio, Department, Unit, Section, and Sub-Section.
Department Description The description corresponding to the department code (e.g. Campus Facilities and Facilities Design, Chemical Engineering, General Benefits Administration, etc.).
Department Financial Manager The name of the financial manager responsible for the department.
Unit The 3rd level in the organizational hierarchy of academic or administrative entities within the Institute. The organizational hierarchy consists of 5 levels: Portfolio, Department, Unit, Section, and Sub-Section.
Unit Description The description corresponding to the unit code.
Unit Financial Manager The name of the financial manager responsible for the unit.
Section The 4th level in the organizational hierarchy of academic or administrative entities within the Institute. The organizational hierarchy consists of 5 levels: Portfolio, Department, Unit, Section, and Sub-Section.
Section Description The description corresponding to the section code.
Section Financial Manager The name of the financial manager responsible for the section.
Organization The 5th level in the organizational hierarchy of academic or administrative entities within the Institute, representing an area of financial responsibility within an organizational section. The organizational hierarchy consists of 5 levels: Portfolio, Department, Unit, Section, and Sub-Section.
Organization Description The description corresponding to the sub-section code.
Organization Financial Manager The name of the financial manager responsible for the sub-section.
Organization Status The current status (e.g. Active, Inactive, Terminated, Retired, etc.) of the organization at the lowest (data-entry) level of the hierarchy.
Organization Termination Date The termination date of the organization at the lowest (data-entry) level of the hierarchy.
Organization Type The type of entity that the organization corresponds to (e.g. Academic School, Administrative, Center, etc.).
Organization Effective Date The effective date of a change to an organization identifier (i.e. predecessor code, description, financial manager, status, etc.) at the lowest (data-entry) level in the hierarchy.
