Scholarships and Fellowships
Rensselaer's undergraduate and graduate degree programs are marked by both disciplinary strength and interdisciplinary flexibility, drawing upon our tradition of close student-faculty collaboration. But continued and increasing student support is essential as Rensselaer positions itself as a top-tier technological institute with global impact.
Currently, 89 percent of our undergraduate student body of 4,921 receives some form of financial aid. Yet our endowed scholarship resources leave us well behind competing institutions.
An endowed scholarship (unrestricted) may be established for a minimum gift of $50,000, and a restricted scholarship fund may be established for $100,000, to ensure a student's future promise. You can also support a Patroon Scholar with a mulit-year gift pledge.
Two-thirds of our 1,234 resident graduate students currently receive financial support from fellowships, teaching assistantships, and research assistantships. Recent changes in our graduate pricing structure -- to make Rensselaer more competitive with its peer institutions -- have made the need for fellowships more pressing than ever.
An endowed graduate fellowship may be established for a minimum gift of $250,000; $750,000 is required to establish an endowed post-doctoral fellowship fund.
