The Future Chips Constellation at Rensselaer is a team of faculty, research associates, and graduate and undergraduate students performing leading-edge research in the field of compound semiconductor materials and devices to bring about leap-frog advances in device technology.
The focus of the Future Chips Constellation is on compound semiconductor materials and devices to enable substantial and significant advances in communications, lighting, sensing, and imaging.
For example, Shawn-Yu Lin, professor of physics and a member of the Future Chips Constellation, has led a group that recently created the darkest material ever made by man.
