Biotechnology & Life Sciences
There is no more compelling example of the power of multidisciplinary research than biotechnology. The possibilities for humankind are breathtaking and lie at the intersection of the life sciences, information sciences, applied mathematics, engineering, and the physical and mathematical sciences.
To date, two of the four biology constellations have been filled:
- Robert J. Linhardt, a world-leading carbohydrate chemist and professor of chemistry and biochemical engineering is the Ann and John H. Broadbent, Jr. '59 Senior Constellation Professor in Biocatalysis and Metabolic Engineering.
- Angel E. Garcia, a renowned theoretical physicist in biomolecular research, is the Senior Constellation Chair in Biocomputation and Bioinformatics.
Opportunities also exist to name important venues within Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies as recognition for gifts of unrestricted endowment. Floor-plans depicting these spaces are available by request.
